Hilton’s focused service brands—Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton by Hilton and Tru by Hilton—are outpacing the segment’s strong first quarter with continued momentum in April and May, building on traveler demand for more focused service lodging options.
Here are the highlights, by the numbers:
- 40 new hotels in April and May 2018, averaging more than four openings per week
- Twelve (or 30 percent) of these openings were outside of the U.S., building on the global footprint of Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton by Hilton
Tru by Hilton opened an impressive 10 of its 27 total properties in the past two months, maintaining its reputation as the fastest brand launch in industry history, and entering nine new U.S. states for the brand.
Many of the Focused Service U.S. openings this period reinforced the category’s growth in domestic, urban markets, including Hilton Garden Inn Seattle/Bellevue Downtown, Hampton Inn & Suites Phoenix Downtown, and Tru by Hilton Downtown San Antonio Downtown.
Continuing the strong global expansion of Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton by Hilton, the brands opened new properties in Europe, the Middle East, South America, and Asia including Hampton by Hilton Frankfurt City Centre East (Germany), Hilton Garden Inn Yalova (Turkey), Hilton Garden Inn Goiania (Brazil), and Hampton by Hilton Foshan (China). Hampton by Hilton has the fastest growing international hospitality brand pipeline in China, opening four new properties in the country during this period, part of an overall global pipeline of 610 hotels*.
