IHG and Champion Hotels open first avid hotel in Oklahoma City

IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) announces the official opening of its first avid hotels property, the 87-room, new-build avid hotel Oklahoma City-Quail Springs on August 22.

Situated just north of downtown Oklahoma City, this hotel is in a thriving part of the city. With multiple business headquarters, medical centers, interesting neighborhoods, and plenty of sporting leagues nearby, the hotel gives visitors to the area, travelling for business or pleasure, a great place to stay.

avid hotel Oklahoma City-Quail Springs is owned and operated by Champion Hotels, the largest privately-owned hotel operator in the USA. This first hotel opened just 199 days after groundbreaking and demonstrates owner belief in the strength of the avid hotels brand and what it offers travelers.

Elie Maalouf, CEO, The Americas, IHG, said: “Opening our first avid hotels property less than a year after the brand launch is an important milestone for IHG. We worked closely with our Owner Advisory Board, including leading owners such as Champion Hotels, to develop a brand that is just right for both guests and owners. The strong momentum of avid hotels, with more than 130 hotel deals already signed across the U.S., Canada and Mexico, firmly positions the brand as a long-term driver of growth for IHG in the Americas.”

Champ Patel, president of Champion Hotels, added: “We have been involved with the development of avid hotels from the very beginning and the IHG team listened to feedback from the Owner Advisory Board to ensure the avid brand will be compelling for owners, and for travelers looking for a high-quality stay experience. Because of this, we believe in the strength of the avid hotels brand and are proud to open the first hotel in Oklahoma City.”

During the development process, IHG gathered extensive input from target consumers to ensure the avid hotels experience delivers exactly what guests want from every touch point in a mainstream hotel. From the moment travelers arrive, it is clear avid hotels has taken the basic travel essentials and created a high-quality guest experience unlike anything else in the market today including modern design, eye-catching colors, plenty of natural light and a room designed for a great night's rest.

The brand is focused on four key areas designed to set the brand apart in the market:

  1. Rooms designed for sound sleep – The brand delivers a best-in-class sleep experience, with rooms intentionally designed for reliable rest. This includes a high-quality mattress and linens, choice of firm and soft pillows, blackout roller shades, and a purposeful design that reduces noise.
  2. Focused, high-quality breakfast – avid hotels take a fresh approach to breakfast.  A select number of high-quality, brand-name options are available for guests to grab-and-go or enjoy in the lobby; alongside a premium fresh, and individually brewed, bean-to-cup coffee experience to start the day off right.
  3. Latest technology – avid hotels is the first IHG brand to offer IHG Studio, a seamless direct casting of entertainment from guests’ smartphones and personal devices to 55” TVs in each room. IHG Connect in each hotel also provides enhanced Wi-Fi technology.
  4. The avid hotels guarantee – avid hotels guarantees the room will be ‘just right’ upon arrival so guests can be confident they have made the right decision. If the room does not meet the guarantee standards upon check-in, the hotel will offer an immediate room change. If there is not another available room, the guest will not be charged for that night’s room and tax.

Guests can look forward to 130 more avid hotels locations opening in the next three to five years. In the meantime, for more information about avid hotels or to book an upcoming stay at the Oklahoma City property, visit avidhotels.com.
