Marriott’s unique take on total solar eclipse day

Summer’s most anticipated natural phenomenon is driving travelers for the first solar eclipse in the continental U.S. in 38 years. Marriott International lists its top destination sites which will allow the guest to experience one of the most awaited natural phenomenon happening this August 21. From Oregon to South Carolina, hotels will set the stage as Mother Nature sets the show. Celebrations across the country include fun activities such as viewing parties with local artists, live music, and themed snacks while witnessing this natural phenomenon.

Where to best encounter the eclipse?      

According to NASA’s Total Solar Eclipse Path, the following cities will be treated to some of the most spectacular views of the total solar eclipse:

  • Jackson Hole, WY
  • Avon, CO
  • Nashville, TN
  • Columbia, S.C.

Bend, OR

Where: SpringHill Suites

When: August 19

What: The brand’s signature, Art of Local event for both guests and the community. Oregon artists will have the chance to display their work while a local photographer provides tips and tricks for how guests can best capture the rare event, with food + drinks at the hotel.

Jackson Hole, WY

Where: The Springhill Suites by Marriott Jackson Hole

When: August 21

What: Pinky and the Floyd tribute band will perform a “celestial” inspired concert set to wow fans and star-gazers alike.

Avon, CO

Where: Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, Beaver Creek Mountain

When: August 21

What: The hotel is offering a package that includes suite accommodations, access to an exclusive solar event with the Vail Valley’s Walking Mountains Science Center, evening s’mores and special viewing glasses.

Nashville, TN

Where: The Renaissance Nashville Hotel

When: August 21

What: Deluxe accommodations, a pair of eclipse glasses, Eclipse T-shirt, and two tickets to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

What: Eclipse viewing glasses and viewing tips upon check-in. On August 21, travelers can stroll over to the designated viewing area on the event lawn with eclipse-themed beverages and snacks for purchase.

Columbia, S.C.

Where: Courtyard Columbia Downtown at USC

When: August 18-21

What: The town will host more than 50 eclipse-related festivals and events

The Great American Eclipse will cross 21 states and select hotels will be offering viewing glasses for guests including Four Points by Sheraton Little Rock Midtown in Arkansas, JW Marriott Indianapolis in Indiana and Hotel LeVeque, Autograph Collection in Ohio.
