Project spotlight: Crowne Plaza Riverside Village, South Carolina

Atlanta-based NorthPointe Hospitality Management has been selected to open and operate the Crowne Plaza Riverside Village in North Augusta, South Carolina.

The Crowne Plaza Riverside Village is scheduled to open by the end of 2018 as the accommodation piece of the $200 million-plus Riverside Village at Hammond’s Ferry development along the Savannah River. The development will be anchored by a new stadium and home for the Augusta Green Jackets minor league baseball team, an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. The hotel is planned to be five stories with 180 modern rooms and suites, a 120-seat restaurant and bar, rooftop bar, ballroom, meeting rooms, outdoor pool, and fitness center.

Real estate services are provided by Ackerman & Co. and Greenstone Properties. The hotel project team includes Rabun Architects and Wakefield Beasley & Associates out of Atlanta; Birmingham, Alabama-based general contractor Brasfield & Gorrie; and Sims Patrick Studio of Atlanta for design.

Riverside Village at Hammond’s Ferry is a new 30-acre mixed-use development that combines a beautifully crafted neighborhood, a vibrant town and event center, and sports complex all adjacent to the Savannah River. With the new stadium and a progressive live-work-play environment that combines apartments, single and multi-family housing, high quality office space, national and local retailers, artisans, and premier dining options, Riverside Village will reshape Augusta and North Augusta into a dynamic destination for both visitors and the local community.

“Riverside Village will be a truly transformative development for the North Augusta River Region,” said Greg Winey, president/principal of NorthPointe Hospitality. “The amount of planning and detail that have gone into this project is extraordinary. We are both proud and humbled by having the opportunity to run such a beautiful facility. With our management and ownership footprint already established at the renowned Partridge Inn in Augusta, we have a leg up on the project having established ourselves in the neighboring community.”
